Google DeepMind and Makerere University are renewing their collaboration to fund two (2) new Google DeepMind AI Masters Scholarships in the field of Machine Learning for the academic year 2025/2026. These build on scholarships previously awarded in the 2021/22, 2022/23, and 2024/2025 academic years.
The scholarships support students pursuing the MSc. in Computer Science (Track: AI and Data Science) in the Department of Computer Science at Makerere University. These scholarships are available to Ugandan students and include full financial support for tuition, stipend, equipment, AI conference participation, and mentorship. Read more about the scholarship.

Eligibility
The scholarships are open to students who are citizens of Uganda.
Applying for the Scholarship
Applicants must first apply for admission to the MSc in Computer Science programme at Makerere University. At the time of scholarship application, proof of application (not admission) is required. To receive the scholarship, you must provide proof of admission.
